Our film series “Escape - Wege in den Rausch, Wege hinaus” in cooperation with GLORIA Kino and the City of Heidelberg is entering its second round. Suzanne, an alcoholic mother, loses custody of her children following a car accident. Suzanne, an alcoholic mother, loses custody of her children following a car accident. To regain custody, she must enter a rehab facility to confront her addiction alongside other patients. She never imagined that her journey out of addiction would take her through the Moroccan desert. The screening will be followed by a moderated audience discussion with Chief Physician Dr. Zeigermann of the Kraichtal Clinics. Members of Heidelberg University pay only €5 admission! "Beweg dich, beweg was" (in german) When? WED, 15.04. – WED, 20.05. Where? Online via the BEWEG-WAS app [Code: UNIHDmoves] What? “Beweg dich, beweg was!” is a campaign in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region for a good cause. Earn points by being active, whether through steps, challenges, or relaxation exercises. Together with other participating companies, these points are converted into donations that support health promotion for children in daycare centers. Colorectal Cancer Screening When? As long as supplies last Where? From the comfort of your own home What? Colorectal cancer is the third most common form of cancer in Germany. Even though colorectal cancer usually develops later in life, the foundation for prevention is laid at a young age. Simply fill out the questionnaire and receive an assessment of your personal colorectal cancer risk. If necessary, you will be invited to a medical consultation and/or receive a colorectal cancer test by mail. All data is, of course, subject to medical confidentiality. Cardiovascular Prevention - Hand on Heart (for employees only) When? Every Friday | By appointment Where? University Hospital Occupational Health Service (Im Neuenheimer Feld 130.3) What? The Occupational Health Service will answer your questions about heart health and take the time to assess your personal risk profile based on selected measurements. An individual assessment will help guide you through the next steps. This service is free for university employees. However, a cancellation fee of €75 will be charged if the appointment is not canceled at least 24 hours in advance. Please note, that the service might only be available in german. Smoking Cessation Counseling - ohnekippe (for employees only) When? May – October | Individual appointments Where? University Hospital Occupational Health Service (Im Neuenheimer Feld 130.3) What? During the smoking cessation consultation, we will work with you to develop a plan for a smoke-free life. Consultations are individualized, tailored to your personal situation and smoking habits. The ohnekippe team helps you prepare to quit smoking and provides you with possible strategies. This service is free for university employees. Mental Health First Aid
First aid courses for physical health emergency care are well known in our society. However, comparable training courses for first aid for mental stress and crises are not yet as widespread. Heidelberg University is therefore now offering first aid courses for mental health.
