Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March – “Knowledge that protects”
March is all about colorectal cancer prevention. Several events await you under the motto “Knowledge that protects.”
Online lectures
On March 10 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Prof. Ronald Koschny (senior physician at the Interdisciplinary Endoscopy Center, UKHD) will give an online lecture in German entitled “Why not come in tomorrow for a preventive colonoscopy?”
On March 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the same lecture will be offered in English: „Why not come in tomorrow for a preventive colonoscopy?“

Colorectal cancer prevention made easy (March 3–31)
Throughout March, you can actively participate in low-threshold colon cancer screening by:
- Filling out an online questionnaire
- Receiving an individual risk assessment
- Receiving and utilizing personalized recommendations for action.
All information on how to participate will be available on our health portal (univital-hd.de) and here on the website starting March 3.
Walk-through intestinal model - March 3
On March 3, you will have the unique opportunity to experience the life-size, walk-through intestinal model from the Felix Burda Foundation gGmbH! The model will be open to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Marstallhof. It is barrier-free, illuminated, and conveys information in an easy-to-understand manner on information boards inside.

Mental Health First Aid
First aid courses for physical health emergency care are well known in our society. However, comparable training courses for first aid for mental stress and crises are not yet as widespread. Heidelberg University is therefore now offering first aid courses for mental health.
